The deaths were confirmed in a condolence statement issued by the Executive Chairman of Yusufari Local Government Area, Adam Jibrin, on Tuesday, September 28, 2026.
Jibrin said the deaths had plunged the families, community and people of Yusufari into deep mourning.
“It is with profound sadness and a deeply heavy heart that I received the heartbreaking news of the passing of four promising young men from Garin Tsangai, Moyori Ward, Yusufari Local Government,” he said.
According to the council chairman, the deceased had travelled to Algeria in search of better livelihood opportunities and a brighter future for themselves and their families.
He described their deaths as an untimely and irreplaceable loss to their families, community and the entire Yusufari Local Government Area.
Jibrin extended his condolences to the parents, siblings, relatives and friends of the deceased, praying for Allah to grant the four men eternal rest.
He also prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved families as they cope with the loss.
The chairman further prayed for the safety and protection of young Nigerians travelling abroad in search of opportunities and urged divine protection for communities against further tragedies.
